The 81-year-old recently even went head-to-head with Tesla boss Elon Musk in the race for the title of the world’s richest man. This was made possible by a breathtaking surge in Oracle’s stock price, of which Ellison holds around 41%. The daily gain of more than one-third not only marked the biggest jump in more than three decades but also pushed the software company’s market cap close to the one-trillion-dollar mark.

<generic-chart title="Oracle Share price (in USD)">
    <chart-line title="Oracle" path="Chart_Oracle.csv" format="date, number"></chart-line>
    <x-axis type="datetime"></x-axis> </generic-chart>

Source: Refinitiv, as at 16.09.2025
Historical data is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

The spark behind this euphoria was Oracle’s latest business results. The database pioneer has successfully transformed into a cloud provider in recent years, benefiting especially from the boom in AI infrastructure. In the past two quarters – Q4 of fiscal year 2024/25 (ending May 31) and Q1 of 2025/26 – the company surprised with double-digit revenue growth and a flood of new orders. The cloud division in particular is buzzing: segment revenues accelerated from +27% in Q4 2024/25 to +28% in Q1 2025/26. Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) proved to be the main growth engine with a revenue jump of 55%. Although Oracle still trails far behind industry giants Amazon, Microsoft, and Google in terms of market share, the company has linked its data centers with those of the so-called hyperscalers. According to Ellison, revenues from these partnerships multiplied more than sixteenfold during the reporting period. “We expect multi-cloud revenues to rise significantly every quarter for many years to come,” the major shareholder said confidently.

<generic-chart title="Cloud revenue (in USDbn)">
  <x-axis categories="Q1 24/25, Q2 24/25, Q3 24/25, Q4 24/25, Q1 25/26"/>
      <chart-column title="Cloud revenue" data="5.62, 5.94, 6.21, 6.74, 7.19" format="number"/>
</generic-chart>

Source: Oracle, as at September 2025
Historical data is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Order Flood

Particularly eye-catching was Oracle’s order intake: in the last quarter, the company secured four major contracts, including reportedly one of the largest cloud deals of all time. This involved an agreement with ChatGPT parent OpenAI for cloud capacity worth USD 300 billion over five years. Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI is also among the customers of these supercomputing services. In total, Oracle’s order backlog rose to USD 455 billion, a 359% increase year-over-year. CEO Safra A. Catz indicated that the USD 500 billion threshold could be crossed soon.

Higher targets

Given these numbers, it’s no surprise that Oracle also raised its annual outlook. In the OCI segment, management now expects revenues of USD 18 billion, up 77%. Previously, Catz had forecast a 70% increase. In subsequent years, growth rates are expected to remain at similar levels. “Oracle is on the way to becoming not only the largest cloud applications company in the world but also one of the largest cloud infrastructure providers,” the 63-year-old stated confidently. For the group as a whole, revenues of at least USD 67 billion are now projected – 17% more than the previous year and two percentage points higher than the original forecast.

For the veteran tech entrepreneur Larry Ellison, these recent successes mark a late crowning of his visions. Still, it should not be overlooked that Oracle remains a challenger in the cloud market – Big Tech players Amazon, Microsoft, and Google together control around two-thirds of the global cloud infrastructure market. But Oracle has a second pillar: its database division. This business too is now positioning itself for the AI future. At the upcoming company conference, Ellison plans to unveil a new version of “Oracle AI Database,” enabling customers to directly connect AI models of any size with their corporate data. This will make Oracle’s database a hub for putting proprietary data to use in GenAI. For companies sitting on vast Oracle databases, this could be a game changer: they can now run AI analyses without migrating their data to other systems.

Sideways...

For Oracle, the challenge now is to maintain its momentum – both operationally and on the capital markets. As far as the stock market is concerned, the company can afford to ease off the accelerator. The new softcallable barrier reverse convertibles from Leonteq already deliver double-digit percentage returns even in a sideways market. The CHF-denominated product offers a coupon of 10.20% p.a., while the USD variant promises as much as 14.20% p.a. The products allow the underlying asset generous room for movement. Within the maximum maturity of 15 months, a risk buffer of 41% protects the principal. The BRC’s term can be shortened, with the first softcallable observation taking place after six months.

Callable Barrier Reverse Convertible

    <SavedSearch :allProducts="false" :filter="{"countrySpecificTitles":[],"distanceToBarriers":[],"underlyings":[],"maturityRangeKey":[],"marketVenues":[],"productTypes":[],"barrierTypes":[],"issuers":[],"omni":"\\"CH1447741401\\"CH1484597039\\"","strikeLevelRanges":[],"productCategories":[],"displayColumns":["coupon","underlying","barrierPercentage","currency","lastTradingDate","tenor","bidAsk","subscriptionEndDate","valor","documentLinks"],"partner":"LEONTEQ","sortFields":[{"fieldName":"snapshot.product.investment.investment_currency","sortOrder":"ASC"}],"productGroups":[],"conditions":{"":true,"-_exists_:snapshot.product.in_subscription":false,"+snapshot.product.in_subscription:(\\"LEONTEQ\\")":false,"+snapshot.product.secondary_market:true":false},"barrierLevelRanges":[],"assetClasses":[],"currencies":[]}">
                </SavedSearch>

…or Leveraged to Profit Success

The recent market reaction showed that Wall Street is betting Oracle will disproportionately benefit from the AI trend. If the company succeeds in converting its recent mega-deals into profits, new stock market records could be on the horizon. Bold traders can bet on this with long instruments. Leonteq offers leverage products that turn rising share prices into outsized gains. In addition, there are warrants with knock-out and mini-futures with a short orientation. These would be suitable, for instance, should Oracle’s stock go into consolidation after its recent surge.

Leveraged products on Oracle

            <leverage-saved-search :columns="[ 'engine.isin', 'engine.valor', 'Type', 'Direction', 'engine.underlying', 'engine.currency-abbr', 'Strike', 'Leverage', 'Ratio', 'engine.maturity', 'Bid', 'Ask']" :filter="{"underlyings":["67421901"],"productTypes":["PT_MINI_FUTURE"],"conditions":{"-identification.status:EXPIRED":true,"+calendar.issueDateTime:[* TO now]":true}}" />

    <ltq-button color="primary" url="https://structuredproducts-ch.leonteq.com/leverage/Wsy?language_id=1" label="Discover our leverage products!"></ltq-button>
underlying-oracle
https://structuredproducts-ch.leonteq.com/product-news/sidenav-banner/oracle_leonteq-structured-products_sidenav+banner.jpg
https://structuredproducts-ch.leonteq.com/product-news/thumbnail/oracle_leonteq-structured-products_thumbnail.jpg"}
