More than one million readers pick up the \u201cSchweiz am Wochenende\u201d (SaW) on a regular basis. As well as international issues, op-eds, business and sport, one speciality of the newspaper is its focus on the different regions of Switzerland. Private investors do not do badly either: last autumn, the country\u2019s highest-circulation weekend paper gave this group access to special financial technology. The first SaW SmartAdapt portfolios were launched on the back of its initiative. The brains behind these solutions are Stefan Buck and Tobias Setz, co-founders of Zurich asset manager Adaptivv. \u201cWe designed the SaW SmartAdapt products for all investors looking for a simple but highly professional solution for building wealth,\u201d explained Buck, CEO of the independent asset manager, in interview with the SaW. According to his colleague and CIO Tobias Setz, achieving a quick profit is not the primary goal. Rather, it is to offer a disciplined, cost-efficient strategy that adapts automatically to changing market conditions. \u201cOver years and decades, with the central element of bandwidth control,\u201d Setz adds.<\/p>\n\n
The spectrum of investments has recently been expanded. Among the new arrivals is the SaW SmartAdapt Portfolio Offensiv Bitcoin/Gold. It aims to achieve long-term growth through a strong bias towards equites, with 80% of the portfolio being invested in this asset class. Half of these are Swiss shares, enabling investors to profit from the stability and quality of the domestic capital market. The remaining 40% in the equity component is made up of international companies. The second element consists of gold and Bitcoin. These two stores of value contribute one fifth of the overall portfolio. Within this quota, the weighting between gold and Bitcoin is adjusted weekly. This is where the Adaptivv Sensor comes into play. The technology puts market risks such as trend, volatility and structural shifts under the microscope. The data is then used to adjust the weighting between gold and Bitcoin automatically. A historic simulation shows that the Bitcoin allocation rises in strong phases, while gold gains importance in times of uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n
