In Allreal and Mobimo, the index is gaining two property stocks that concentrate on the domestic market and thus bring a different dynamic to the basket than export-driven industrial or technology shares. Allreal combines a portfolio of existing properties with newbuild projects and improved net profits by 3.7% to CHFmn 219.3 in 2025. For its part, Mobimo operates solely in Switzerland. Focusing on active portfolio management and with a balanced usage mix, it reported rental income of CHFmn 145.5 for 2025 along with much higher earnings momentum. In a year in which rising interest rates and geopolitical unrest were long considered toxic for property shares, their return to the index is particularly remarkable. The two banks offer a different kind of solidity. BCV has a broad range of services spanning retail banking, wealth management, corporate banking and trading. The institution posted stable income of CHFbn 1.15 for 2025 alongside a net profit of CHFmn 430. Cembra, meanwhile, is a specialist consumer finance bank offering loans, credit cards, leasing, insurance and savings products. In 2025 the company increased its profit by 5%, improved efficiency and held out the prospect of a return on equity of about 15% for 2026. What this means for the FuW 50 is that the banking sector is getting not just bigger, but also more diverse.<\/p>\n\n
A fresh start is not just about who comes on board, but also who gains in significance within the existing selection. The new role of Helvetia Baloise is particularly striking in that regard, the merged insurer now accounting for 2.7% of the index. This reflects the new position of the group on the Swiss market, after the merger of Helvetia and Baloise created the second largest insurance group in the country. Swiss Prime Site and VAT Group are likewise advancing from 1.3% to 2.7%. On the other side, former favourites are losing ground, with Logitech and Lindt & Sprüngli slipping from 2.7% to 1.3%. For Logitech especially, this is indicative of the economy over the last few months: the company had withdrawn its forecast for the 2026 financial year back in 2025 due to uncertainty surrounding US tariff policy. Although any company losing weight does not disappear from the FuW Swiss 50 without trace, the index uses such shifts to highlight which business models the stock market currently regards as more robust than others.<\/p>\n\n
The current restructuring also changes the sector balance. Healthcare\u2019s dominance is declining significantly relative to the SMI, whilst sectors such as banking, property, technology and industrials are gaining greater prominence. In numerical terms, property makes up 6.6% of the FuW Swiss 50 after the rebalancing, whereas this sector is not represented at all in the comparable SMI-ETF. Healthcare stocks account for 17.4% of the FuW index, against 37.0% for the comparable benchmark. The index is thus coming even closer to what it was always intended to be: less a bet on three global mega-caps and more a reflection of all companies listed on the Swiss stock market.<\/p>\n\n
Anyone not wanting to replicate this rebalancing by selecting individual shares can simply add the index to their portfolio via an investment product. The ETP+ on the FuW Swiss 50 replicates the performance of the index on a 1:1 basis, charges an annual management fee of 0.72% and, in return, reinvests the net dividends. The open-end product can be traded on every stock market day. Particularly in a market in which the differences between a concentrated blue-chip investment and a broader equity exposure are becoming more noticeable again, this access is almost more important than changes in individual stocks.
